Andrés Otín Montaner

Andrés Otín Montaner began his oboe studies at the conservatory of his hometown (Huesca, Spain) From 2012 to 2016 he completed his Bachelor studies with Professor Thomas Indermühle at the Hochschule für Musik Karlsruhe and gave masterclasses with oboists such as Francisco Gil, Lucas Macías, Jacques Tys, Dudu Carmel, Christian Smith, Kalev Kuljus and Spyros Kontos. Between 2016 and 2019 he completed master's studies at the Mozarteum University of Salzburg with Professor Stefan Schilli and at the same time was an academist of the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra (BR Symphonieorchester). From 2019 to 2021 he was principal oboe of the Leipzig Gewandhausorchester. In addition, his orchestral and chamber experience includes ensembles such as "Junge Deutsche Philharmonie", "Symphonieorchester des SWR", "Symphonieorchester des MDR", "Orchester de Chambre de Toulouse", "Augsburger Symphoniker", "Bavaria Radio Chamber Orchestra ”,“Gewandhaus Quintett”, “Mahler Chamber Orchestra” and “Neues Bachisches Collegium Leipzig”. In 2015 he was a semifinalist in the “11. International Oboe Competition of Japan”. Among others, he has performed under the direction of Mariss Jansons, Simon Rattle, Daniel Harding, Andris Nelsons, Zubin Metha and Daniele Gatti.
